How to update the email address of a Scheduled Task in Plesk? (Video)

In Plesk, you can configure scheduled tasks (cron jobs) to send email notifications upon execution. If you want to update the email address for receiving these notifications.

Follow these simple steps:


Step 1: Log in to Plesk

  1. Open your web browser and go to the Plesk login page (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:8443 or https://your-server-ip:8443).
  2. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.

Step 2: Access the Scheduled Tasks Section

  1. After logging in, navigate to the Websites & Domains tab (for individual users) or Tools & Settings (for administrators).
  2. In the Websites & Domains section, locate the domain you want to manage.
  3. Under the domain’s settings, find and click on Scheduled Tasks.
    • For admins, under Tools & Settings, you may also see Scheduled Tasks listed under the Server Management section.

Step 3: Edit an Existing Scheduled Task

  1. In the Scheduled Tasks list, locate the task for which you want to update the email address.
  2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) next to the scheduled task.

Step 4: Update the Email Address for Notifications

  1. In the Task Settings page, look for the Mail Output section.
  2. In the Mail Output field, enter the new email address that should receive notifications from this scheduled task.
    • You can enter one or more email addresses separated by commas if you want to send notifications to multiple recipients.

Step 5: Save the Changes

  1. After updating the email address, click OK or Save to save the changes.
  2. The task will now send notifications to the new email address when it is executed.

Step 6: Verify the Update

  • To verify the change, you can either wait for the scheduled task to run or manually run the task. Check the new email inbox for a notification confirming the task's execution.

Additional Notes

  • Email Output Options: You can also specify whether you want to receive the standard output or error messages from the task. Ensure you have configured the task to send email notifications in the first place.
  • Email Address Format: Ensure that the email address is correctly formatted (e.g., [email protected]).
  • Multiple Emails: If you want to send notifications to multiple recipients, enter email addresses separated by commas (e.g., [email protected], [email protected]).
  • No Email Notifications: If you don't want to receive email notifications, you can remove the email address or leave the field empty.

Updating the email address of a scheduled task in Plesk is straightforward. Simply edit the task’s settings and change the Mail Output field to the desired email address. This ensures that you or your team receive notifications about the task's execution.
