How to Access cPanel Web Disk? (Video)

Web Disk in cPanel allows you to manage your website files as if they were stored locally on your computer. It acts like a network drive, enabling easy drag-and-drop file management. Here’s how to access and configure Web Disk.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  1. Open your browser and navigate to your cPanel login page (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2083).
  2. Enter your username and password, then click Log in.

Step 2: Access the Web Disk Tool

  1. In the Files section of the cPanel dashboard, click Web Disk.

Step 3: Configure Web Disk Access

  1. In the Web Disk interface, you can:
    • Use the default Web Disk account tied to your cPanel username.
    • Create a new Web Disk account (if required for specific directories or users).
  2. Scroll down to the Access Web Disk section for setup instructions.

Step 4: Set Up Web Disk on Your Device

cPanel provides configuration instructions for various operating systems:

For Windows

  1. Under the Access Web Disk section, select Windows as your operating system.
  2. Download the Web Disk configuration script provided by cPanel.
  3. Run the downloaded script and follow the on-screen prompts to add the Web Disk to your Windows system.
  4. If prompted, enter your Web Disk username and password.

For macOS

  1. Select macOS under the operating system options.
  2. Open Finder and click Go > Connect to Server from the top menu.
  3. Enter the Web Disk URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2078) in the Server Address field.
  4. Click Connect and enter your Web Disk username and password when prompted.

For Linux

  1. Select Linux under the operating system options.
  2. Use a file manager like Nautilus or Dolphin to connect to the Web Disk server.
  3. Enter the Web Disk URL (e.g., dav://yourdomain.com:2077 for non-SSL or davs://yourdomain.com:2078 for SSL).
  4. Provide your Web Disk credentials when prompted.

Step 5: Test the Connection

  1. After setting up the Web Disk on your device, open the network drive in your file manager.
  2. Verify that you can view, upload, download, and manage files within the Web Disk directory.

Optional: Enable Digest Authentication

If you’re using an older operating system or have trouble connecting, enable Digest Authentication in the Web Disk settings:

  1. Go to the Web Disk page in cPanel.
  2. Check the Enable Digest Authentication option and save the settings.

Tips for Using Web Disk

  • SSL Access: Use the secure (SSL) URL for added security (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2078).
  • Permissions: Ensure your Web Disk account has the necessary read/write permissions for the desired directories.
  • File Management: Use Web Disk for easy drag-and-drop file management, similar to a local folder.

By following these steps, you can easily access and configure cPanel Web Disk to manage your website files efficiently from your computer.
