How to forward an email to Gmail, Yahoo or other email service providers? (Video)

Setting up email forwarding in cPanel allows you to redirect emails from your domain’s email account (e.g., [email protected]) to another email provider, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook.

Follow these steps to configure email forwarding:

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  1. Open your browser and navigate to your cPanel login page (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2083).
  2. Enter your username and password, then click Log in.

Step 2: Access the Email Forwarders Tool

  1. Scroll down to the Email section in the cPanel dashboard.
  2. Click on Forwarders.

Step 3: Add a New Forwarder

  1. In the Forwarders interface, click Add Forwarder.

  2. Fill in the following details:

    • Address to Forward: Enter the username of the email address you want to forward (e.g., info if the full address is [email protected]).
    • Domain: Select the domain associated with the email address from the dropdown menu.
    • Destination: Enter the external email address where you want to forward emails (e.g., [email protected] or [email protected]).
  3. Click Add Forwarder to save the configuration.

Step 4: Verify the Forwarding Setup

  1. Send a test email to the domain email address you set up for forwarding (e.g., [email protected]).
  2. Check the destination email address (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) to confirm that the forwarded email was received.

Optional: Forward All Emails from a Domain

  1. To forward all emails from your domain to another email address:
    • In the Forwarders interface, click Add Domain Forwarder.
    • Select the domain you want to forward.
    • Enter the destination email address (e.g., [email protected]).
  2. Click Add Domain Forwarder.

Step 5: Manage Forwarders

  1. To modify or delete a forwarder:
    • Return to the Forwarders page in cPanel.
    • Locate the forwarder in the list and click Delete or Edit.

Tips for Forwarding Emails

  • Avoid Loops: Ensure the destination email address does not forward back to the same domain to prevent infinite loops.
  • SPF and DKIM Records: Configure SPF and DKIM records in your DNS settings to ensure forwarded emails are not marked as spam by external providers.
  • Keep Backups: If you only forward emails, the original messages may not be stored on your server. Consider setting up email retention policies or using both forwarding and webmail.

By forwarding emails through cPanel, you can easily manage your communications by centralizing them in your preferred email provider’s inbox, such as Gmail or Yahoo.
